Healthy recipies for a taste of adventure…
Hands up if you love cake! As food lovers ourselves, most of the food that we serve on our yoga retreats is homemade. Before setting sail, we source healthy recipes and then always buy fresh produce for our guests: fruit and vegetables come from our favourite farmers’ market and we source our milk, butter, and eggs from a local farm.
On each day of the yoga sailing holiday, we choose which recipes we want to prepare and we all lend a hand with the cooking (in one way or another). If eating is more your forte then your moral support will definitely be appreciated!
This delicious ricotta cake was one of several healthy recipies that proved to be a great success on our last yoga retreat. Everybody loved it and it is so easy to make that you can even bake it on a boat…
Ingredients for ricotta cake:
300 grams of white flour
300 grams of fresh ricotta
300 grams of sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon of baking powder
powdered sugar for decorating
Method:
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
- In a bowl, mix the ricotta, sugar, and egg with a spoon.
- Add in the flour and baking powder.
- Pour the batter into the cake tin then bake for 35 – 40 minutes.
- Dust the cake with powdered sugar before serving.
That extra touch:
Add chocolate chips to the cake batter before baking for a delicious treat!
